Week 3
This is the 3rd week of classes and I don’t quite know what to do. The students seem bored with PowerPoints. I worked so hard on them! I actually saw some students roll their eyes when I showed them the slides the first day, which took the wind right out of my sails. I don’t understand why because the slides are visual, give them a good outline for the content so they can listen during lecture more easily. Maybe it’ll help if I print them out and let the students take notes directly on the slides. That should be a great study guide.

Our children today are being socialized in a world that is very different from the world their parents and teachers knew. They have always lived in a digital world, surrounded by computers, videogames, cell phones, digital music players, and cable television. They are exposed to television, computer games, email and the internet along with other forms of technology that provides a sea of information at the touch of a computer key. Their exposure to and use of technology is vastly greater than their parents or teachers at the same age, and the numbers are astonishing.
