s Liz Baynard, Project Supervisor and Consultant

Liz Baynard has enjoyed teaching higher education courses at George Mason University, K-12 math and science in Fairfax County Public Schools, and pre-school in Montgomery County. Liz has served as a mentor, coach, PLC leader, and department chair. Liz is using her diverse experiences and knowledge to enable pre-service teachers to develop their pedagogy and background in learning theories. Liz’s professional presentations and publications have contributed to the body of knowledge informing pre-service and veteran teachers in the areas of inquiry-based lessons, cooperative learning, formative assessment, and instructional technology. Liz’s contributions on curriculum review committees and assessment review committees at the local and national level have provided her with unique and valuable learning experiences. Liz is certified in K-12 mathematics and grades 6-8 science; she will be completing her PhD in Science Education Leadership and Instructional Technology in 2011 at George Mason University. Liz’s areas of research include formative assessment, teacher self efficacy, and new teacher support programs.
