Lisa Reddel has 18 years of experience in public education. She is currently the principal of Polton Elementary School in Cherry Creek School District #5, a suburb of Denver, Colorado. Her school was recently selected and named a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) school. Lisa has served as principal of Cunningham Park Elementary and assistant principal at Wolftrap Elementary in Fairfax County, Virginia. Throughout her administrative career, she has been a practitioner and advocate for developing strong Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) in the schools where she has worked.

A firm believer in the power of cooperative learning and collective efficacy, Lisa has fostered the development of a strong professional learning community model in her schools. She has presented and worked with teachers and administrators in both Fairfax County Public Schools and Cherry Creek School District on topics such as building and sustaining PLCs; reculturing and establishing a collaborative school culture; understanding the differences between a traditional school and a PLC school; creating schedules to find time to collaborate; and analyzing data focused on student achievement. Her experience as both a teacher and administrator allows her to connect with all levels of school staff, by highlighting success stories and lessons learned on her own PLC journey.

Lisa holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Mary Washington College and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Virginia Tech. She was a selected participant in the Washington Post Principals Institute (2005), Center for Creative Leadership (2005), Tointon Leadership Institute for Educational Change (2007) and graduated from the National Staff Development Academy in 2008.
