Zena Chapman, Ed.D, Associate Consultant
Zena Chapman, Ed.D has been employed as an educator for over twenty years. She has served as a teacher, counselor, assistant principal, and director of student services at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. During her tenure as a public-school educator, Zena has mentored students, teachers, and administrators.
Presently, Zena is a Middle School Director of Student Services. Using her diverse experiences and knowledge, Zena has been able to restructure the school’s department of student services using the key elements of the ASCA Model and the Professional Learning Community. Zena can build a master schedule around teacher collaboration, and incorporate programs that reach at-risk students. The components of her master schedule model include teaming, inclusive instructional practices, and flexible teaching time blocks.
Zena’s professional accomplishments outside the immediate school environment are wide-ranging. She has served as Chairperson of the Fairfax Education Association’s Instructional and Professional Development Committee. Zena has presented and co-presented workshops on Pre-collegiate Programs, Students Taking Academic Responsibility, and Study Skills that Work. She is a published author. Zena received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the George Washington University. |
